Andy Start, Chief Executive Officer at DE&S, visits Armstrong Works
We were pleased to welcome Andy Start, Chief Executive Officer at DE&S, to Armstrong Works last week for discussions with our Senior Leadership Team and UK focused project teams.
Building on DE&S’ focus on enhanced collaboration with industry, the visit included a tour of Pearson Engineering’s product design and manufacturing capabilities, and an update on the programmes we are currently delivering to UK MOD and its strategic partners.
Mr Start also met with a number of apprentices at Responsive Engineering who are training to deliver the next-generation of defence capability to end-users around the world.
Pearson Engineering is proud to support all of the UK’s major Armoured Vehicle Programmes. Our scope of work includes the manufacture of turret structures for Challenger 3, Mission Modules for BOXER, armour packs for AJAX, and the supply of Dry Support Bridge fabrications. With key components for each programme produced at Armstrong Works, this work underpins the revival of armoured vehicle manufacturing in North East England and contributes significantly to investment in jobs and new capability at our site.
