Pearson Engineering wins ADM/DMO Award
Pearson Engineering receive award from the Australian Defence Magazine (ADM) and Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO)
Pearson Engineering was delighted to accept an award from the Australian Defence Magazine (ADM) and Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO) in Canberra, Australia last month.
PEL worked along with 11 other companies on DMO LAND 154 3A TEAM to deliver a complex, high technology Counter-IED solution to a tight schedule. Each company was awarded for outstanding achievement in the Rapid Acquisition category of the Industry team of the Year Award for Excellence 2013. Our award reads:
DMO LAND 154 PHASE 3A TEAM AND 11 PARTNER COMPANIES (JCB US, JCB UK, CONTRUCTION EQUIPMENT AUSTRALIA, SELEX GALILEO UK, CSI, DCD PROTECTED MOBILITY, FASCAN, CHEMRING AUSTRALIA, NITEK, PEARSONS AND IDES) WERE ABLE TO DELIVER A COMPLEX, HIGH TECHNOLOGY COUNTER-IED SOLUTION TO A SERIOUS FRONTLINE PROBLEM THE ADF WAS FACING USING MOTS AND COTS TECHNOLOGY IN A TIGHTLY COMPRESSED TIMELINE. THE TEAM ARE COMMENDED ON THEIR IN THEATRE INTRODUCTION AND SUPPORT EFFORTS IN AFGHANISTAN BY BOTH PARTIES.
The PEL team worked quickly to deliver a total of 11 SPARK II Roller Systems for fitment to the Thales Bushmaster along with manuals and in-country training.
SPARK II, an evolution of the original SPARK concept, features push-down and steering capability and can be jettisoned from the host vehicle in an emergency.
Pearson Engineering was able to draw upon its strong and long-founded relationships with suppliers as well as project management expertise in order to deliver to tight deadlines.
