U.S Army Contracting Command, Warren, MI has chosen Pearson Engineering to deliver inspection and repair services to the Assault Breacher Vehicle Programme. The work will be carried out at ‘Pearson Engineering Inc.’, a wholly owned U.S. subsidiary set up to provide secure U.S. in-country assembly, storage and support facilities.
The Assault Breacher Vehicle, is part of the Heavy Brigade Combat Team and is designed to rapidly breach routes through minefields to create safe lanes for following forces. Based on a M1A1 Abrams main battle tank, the vehicle includes interchangeable Front End Equipment from Pearson Engineering, providing the Commander with the ability to optimise the role of the vehicle, be it minefield breaching or obstacle reduction, delivering Assured Mobility support to the full spectrum of combat operations. The system was first developed for a USMC operational requirement, is now in service with the U.S. Army and has seen proven success in recent years
