Pearson Engineering signs Armed Forces Covenant
Pearson Engineering was honoured to host a visit from Brigadier Oli Stokes, Commander 4th Brigade, in order to jointly sign the Armed Forces Covenant. The Covenant formally recognises the value that serving regular and reservist personnel, veterans and military families contribute to business and to the United Kingdom.
For Pearson Engineering, the relationship is especially important given the company’s position as providers of combat engineering equipment to the British Army and to a wide range of other Armed Forces around the world. A number of employees from Pearson Engineering have served with British Armed Forces in the past or are Reservists now. Further, the company has made efforts to support the Armed Forces community through fundraising activities for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, the Royal British Legion and SSAFA. The signing of the Armed Forces Covenant pledges Pearson Engineering’s continued support in a number of ways.
Managing Director, Mr Craig Priday said, “Pearson Engineering is delighted and honoured to sign the Armed Forces Covenant today. It demonstrates our recognition and enduring commitment to those who serve or who have served the Country as members of the Armed Forces.”
Mr Gary McClafferty, the Regional Employer Engagement Director for the North East Regional Forces and Cadets Association, who was also present for the visit added “We are delighted that Pearson Engineering has signed and pledged support to the Armed Forces Covenant which is the 100th signing within the North East of England.
“The Covenant encourages companies, like Pearson Engineering, to develop a relationship with members of the Armed Forces community within their businesses such as Ex-Service Personnel, Reservists and Cadet Volunteers.
“We hope to build on this strong relationship with Pearson Engineering in the future and encourage other companies to demonstrate their support for the Armed Forces community by signing the covenant themselves.”
