We were pleased to welcome Chief of the General Staff, General Sir Patrick Sanders and Director General Land, Chris Bushell, to Armstrong Works as part of a tour that focused on industry's invaluable support to the development of the British Army's defence capabilities.
During the visit, we shared news of our contribution to supporting efforts in Ukraine and discussed the broad range of British Army programmes that Armstrong Works touches.
Armstrong Works, the UK’s only purpose-built armoured vehicle manufacturing site plays a critical role in delivering equipment to Armed Forces in the UK and overseas. Proudly located in the North East of England, our work across international defence creates good quality jobs, prosperity, and opportunity in the community. Formerly known as the ‘Tank Factory’, Armstrong Works has a long legacy of supporting defence programmes that we are proud to continue today.
Our visitors had the opportunity to meet a number of apprentices who represent the next-generation of talent that will further the development of defence capabilities, and to visit manufacturing cells to see the latest developments and progress in key land programmes.
