Pearson Engineering Donates £5,000 to The Army Benevolent Fund.
As part of Pearson Engineering’s social value work, which has as one of its core pillars a focus on support to the defence community, we recently donated £5,000 to the Army Benevolent Fund. As a proud provider of combat engineering equipment to those who must undertake the most complex and dangerous manoeuvre tasks, it is our duty to support the defence community to prosper.
The Army Benevolent Fund is the national charity of the British Army, it provides lifetime support to soldiers, veterans and their immediate families. Our recent donation of £5,000 will help to support individuals in the North East and across the UK. The Army Benevolent Fund often supports other charities and specialist organisations to deploy their resources where they are needed for the benefit of the veteran community.
Last financial year, The Army Benevolent Fund granted over £46,000 to a charity called Launchpad, which was used to meet the housing utility costs of around 46 homeless army veterans living at a veteran accommodation complex based in Newcastle upon Tyne.. The Army Benevolent Fund also funded the annual cost of a specialist caseworker to help vulnerable veterans with mental health and substance addiction problems. Often, they are unable to find paid employment or they are recovering from broken family relationships. A further grant of £5,400 was made to Veterans at Ease, a mental health charity supporting army veterans. The donation partly-funded the costs of training courses for four new therapists across three sites in the North East, Tees Valley and Norfolk.
At Pearson Engineering we are committed to supporting the defence community both in active duty and at home by working with local and national charities and organisations. We also work closely with various members of the defence community to share examples of opportunities in civilian life and to promote prosperity among those who have served.
