PEL presented with Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade
Pearson Engineering was honoured to welcome the Queen’s Representative, Lord Lieutenant Nigel Sherlock, earlier this week to present the company with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade.
Pearson Engineering, part of Reece Group Ltd, has increased turnover by 380% in a four year period from £43m to £207m, with exports accounting for over 98% of sales. The company provides Counter-IED, Counter-Mine, Combat Earth Moving and Assault Bridging equipment to the world’s armed forces.
Speaking about the defence company’s ability to remain successful, Technical Director Randall Flack said:
“Key to our success has been our powerful engineering resource, our respected product range and our dominant global market presence. To succeed, we have to be very engaged in design. We have to think about what happens in the future, particularly over the next 5 to 10 years. We have to listen to our customers. We have to dominate our sector everywhere, every time, no matter how small and no matter how far away. We like to think of ourselves as a place where profit is the result of doing good things. If we can make our customers happy, if we can make our staff feel engaged, creative and motivated then our success will continue. Being simply good is simply not good enough. We have been extraordinary I see no reason that we can’t go on being that way now and in the future.”
